When I first left college I worked mostly in lithography, drawing on limestone blocks and aluminum plates and printing by hand with a used press my father bought me. It's such a beautiful medium, combining the delicacy of drawing with the richness of oil-based inks. It's also very demanding and I eventually gave it up for painting, but the beauty of printmaking is that I still have some of these editions.

ReplyDeleteLove these! So glad you shared. That first one is my favorite. It's a perspective/subject I'd never choose, but there's something so urban about it, and the promise of hope and a road (I imagine) to nowhere.)
ReplyDeleteHi Traca, that was a beach community called "Vista Del Mar" that was bought out when LAX was built. The homes were moved but the streets and palms are still there, with planes roaring overhead.
